Find the difference between the following numbers
Example 1:
953684 – 782962
Solution:
Place the biggest number on the top and the smallest number on the bottom. Start subtracting from right to left.
In units column, 4-2=2.
In tens column, 8-6=2.
In hundreds column, 6< 9, borrow 10 from the previous column it becomes 16. So 16-9=7.
In thousands column, 2-2=0
In ten thousand column 5< 8, borrow 10 from the previous column it becomes 15-8=7.
In hundred thousand column, 8-7=1.
Example 2:
768595 – 459383
Solution:
In the units column,5-3=2
In tens column, 9-8=1
In hundreds column, 5-3=2
In thousands column 8<9, borrow 10 from the previous column and it becomes 18, So 18-9=9.
In ten thousand column, 6 becomes 5. So 5-5=0.
In the hundred thousand column, subtract 4 from 7 i.e. 7-4=3.
Example 3:
Sita has 50690 chocolates in her store. She ordered some chocolates. Totally she has 65868 chocolates after receiving the order. Find how many chocolates did she order?
Solution:
No of chocolates Sita have in the store= 50690
Total no of chocolates Sita have after receiving the order =65868
No of chocolates Sita ordered =65868-50690
Hence, Sita has 15178 chocolates in the store.
Example 4:
Srinu has stored 13450 bags of rice in the godown. He sold 4560 bags. Find how many bags did he have now in the godown?
Solution:
No of rice bags in the godown= 13450
No of rice bags he sold=4560
No of rice bags Srinu have=13450-4560
Therefore, Srinu has 8890 rice bags.

Hari purchased gold for Rs 298780. He gave Rs 300000 to the shopkeeper. Find how much money he will get in return?
Solution:
Hari purchased gold = Rs 298780
Hari gave the money to the shopkeeper=Rs 300000

Hence, Hari got money in return is Rs1220.

Siri has money of Rs 558959. She gave her friend Rs 65893. Find how much money Siri has?
Solution:

Solution:

Akhil bought silver for rs 65954. He sold it for 78923. Find the profit he gained by selling the silver?
Solution:

The profit he gained by selling silver= 78923- 65954
=12,969
Hence, Akhil gained profit by selling silver for Rs 12,969.

Sujitha has the money of Rs 10800. She bought a school bag, books, dresses for 7280. Find out how much money she has?
Solution:
Sujitha has the money = Rs 10800
Money spent by sujitha= Rs 7280
