Example 1.

Sam has 30 candies. Her sister gave her 21 candies. How many candies did Sam have now altogether?

Solution:
Given that Sam has 30 candies.
Number of candies her sister gave her = 21 candies
Now, add the total candies by adding 30 candies with 21 candies.

First test = 42 marks
Second test = 36 marks
Now, add the First test and Second test marks.
